Last year, as a part of the roundabout project at and NC101 and Live Oak St., the Board voted to make the north entrance of Circle Dr. right-in-only as a safety measure at the suggestion of NCDOT and town staff.
Traffic stopping and stacking up through the roundabout is thought of as a hazard. Having a right-out only on Circle Dr. is not, as the driver making the right has full view of oncoming traffic and presumably will not pull out in front of traffic unsafely. And since the south entrance to Circle Dr. is full movement, it's likely most people will go out that way anyhow.
While Commissioner Hollinshed was discussing this arrangement with residents of the Circle Dr. neighborhood, some complained of speeding and the need for traffic calming measures.
